Hollow Profit, a hip hop artist hailing from Duluth, Minnesota, has steadily carved out a name in the underground music scene with his evocative storytelling and fresh approach to production. Over nearly a decade, he has transitioned from aspiring newcomer to a recognized voice within hip hop, celebrated for his sharp lyrics and innovative soundscapes. His journey through music has been marked by growth and experimentation, drawing from hip hop’s roots while pushing its boundaries. Hollow Profit’s work, especially in recent years, has caught the attention of fans and collaborators, firmly establishing him as a notable figure in the genre.

Taking influence from hip hop legends like MF DOOM, Hollow Profit creates music that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. His tracks blend intricate wordplay with layered beats that transport listeners into a unique world of depth and reflection. His initial breakthrough came in 2021 with his feature on “Muddy II,” a collaboration that showcased his lyrical prowess and hinted at the distinctive style he would bring to future solo projects. Following this, Hollow Profit made his solo debut in 2022 with “Costa Rica,” a track that laid the groundwork for the imaginative, introspective direction he would continue to explore.

This year, Hollow Profit unveiled The Prelude, his debut album, a culmination of years of artistry that underscores his versatility and evolving sound. His latest single, “Birds & Bullets,” takes his artistry even further. Featuring New York-based artist Ben Beal, the track reinterprets Beal’s 2020 release “Birds Aren’t Real” through Hollow Profit’s alter ego, Crimson Dot. Produced by 47 Quid, the song weaves together smoky jazz samples, laid-back keys, and dusty beats, creating a hypnotic backdrop that marries classic hip hop with a distinctly modern twist. Hollow Profit’s smooth flow and vivid imagery breathe life into the track, turning it into a reflection on themes of perception and deception.

With its atmospheric production and dynamic lyrical delivery, “Birds & Bullets” stands out as an innovative addition to Hollow Profit’s discography. The song encapsulates his signature sound: an intricate fusion of old-school influence and fresh, experimental energy. Clocking in at just two minutes, the track leaves a lasting impression, solidifying Hollow Profit’s reputation as a compelling voice in hip hop. With each release, he pushes his artistic limits, solidifying his place as a rising star and bringing new energy to the hip hop landscape.
